Online sales are now open for Puccini’s opera Tosca, at the Aurora Opera House in Victoria, Gozo.

This everlasting favourite with the audiences, returns to the Aurora in a completely new production, after recent successes in 2011 (Aurora’s own production) and 2014 (A Gaulitanus Choir Production).

The work, which is based on Victorien Sardou’s 1887 French-language dramatic play, La Tosca, is a melodramatic piece set in Rome in June 1800, with the Kingdom of Naples’s control of Rome threatened by Napoleon’s invasion of Italy. It contains depictions of torture, murder and suicide, as well as some of Puccini’s best-known lyrical arias.

Tosca is being performed at the Aurora Opera House on Saturday, the 14th of October, starting at 7.30pm. Online booking is available here.

Patrons also have the opportunity to order compliments online, such as vin d’honneur tokens, shuttle transport, taxis and opera programmes in advance.
