Alternattiva Demokratika – The Green Party has said it is supporting the petition signed by over 500 Israeli intellectuals and citizens asking the international community to stop Israel.

Among the signatories are some very well-known artists, musicians and writers such as Dror Burstein, Ala Hlehel, Yitzhak Laor, Yehudith Levin, Avi Mograbi, Michal Naaman, Salman Natour, Judd Ne`eman, Aharon Shabtay, and Arik Shapira (Israel Prize Laureate) – and university professors such as Yossef Grodginski, Uri Hadar, Hannan Hever, Orly Lubin, Adi Ophir, Yehuda Shenhav and Eyal Weitzman. The petition was presented by the initiators to embassies in Israel.

Arnold Cassola, Alternattiva Demokratika Chairperson, stated:”The only way forward is the stopping of all bruteless killings in this war torn area. Violence is never a solution. The only solution can only be a lasting political agreement whereby the peoples of Israel and Palestine live together side by side in two free states, and in full respect of each other.”
