The National Blood Transfusion Service has said that next Thursday is World Blood Donor Day. The theme of this year’s campaign is blood donation as an action of solidarity – Be there for someone else. Give blood. Share life.

With this in mind, the Service said that it is is holding a blood donation session in Gozo and is inviting members of the public – if their health permits- to donate blood next Tuesday the 11th of June.

Donations can be made at the District Health Centre in Xewkija. The session will be 1:00pm to 5:00pm (last registration until 5:00pm).

It is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.
