Starting tomorrow, the summer bus service is being introduced in Gozo and Malta by Malta Public Transport.
MPT said that there will be more more frequent buses on busy routes and an extended bus service to popular beaches, including in Gozo. Tickets purchased on the bus in cash are at €2.00 during summer.
The frequency of buses will be increasing by a total of almost 300 daily trips on the following routes:
Gozo:
Route 310 – Victoria – Marsalforn
Route 311 – Victoria – Dwejra
Route 322 – Marsalforn – Mgarr Ferry
Malta:
Route 82 – Valletta to Birzebbugia
Route 212 – Sliema to Bugibba
Route 221 – Cirkewwa to Bugibba
Route 222 – Sliema to Cirkewwa
Route 223 – Bugibba to Ghajn Tuffieha
Route 225 – Sliema – Ghajn Tuffieha
The bus service is also being extended to these popular beaches: Armier (Route 49), Blue Grotto (Route 74), Gnejna Bay (Route 101) and Ghar Lapsi (Route 109). All these routes operate from Monday to Sunday during Summer, MPT said.
The new schedules will be available online on www.publictransport.com.mt Due to these changes the ‘Journey Planner’ on the website and on the tallinja app will be temporarily unavailable until the updates are in place, it said.
During the coming days, Malta Public Transport said that it will also be updating all timetables on every bus stop in Malta and Gozo.

Amazing how they can ignore Victoria – Ramla service 302 which is packed before it leaves the bus station. Having said that it has not run it’s proper service for 3 weeks now due to road works in lower Triq Ghajn Qatet, but instead of keeping as close to it’s proper route as possible, it has taken the option of using the routes already serviced by other buses!
Same for the 323 which is Victoria to Mgarr via Xewkija, always packed, and does not even attempt to match the times of the Ferries!
Marsalforn route 310 should be every half an hour in Summer and Winter and not every 45 minutes in Summer and every 60 minutes in Winter, especially that all the Gozo route buses are small and Marsalforn the most popular place in Gozo with many tourists flocking to the beach.
