Police have said a 58-year-old man from Xaghra was seriously injured after he was allegedly hit with a hard object during an argument with another man.
The incident happened at about 10.50pm on Sunday night in Triq it-Tmienja u Ghoxrin ta’ April 1688, Xaghra.
Gozo Police said that the other man, aged 45, also from Xaghra was slightly injured.
Police investigations are still underway.
