The Education Ministry has said that 59,221 students started back for the new scholastic year this morning in state schools across Gozo and Malta.

There are 8,731 in kindergarten; 25,860 in primary schools; 20,939 in middle and secondary schools; and 3,691 in post-secondary.

Also back today the Ministry said, are 10,366 educators, of which 5,574 are teachers, 3,528 are Learning Support Educators (LSEs), and 709 Kindergarten teachers.
