Gozo Channel ferry services between Malta and Gozo were disrupted for a short while early this morning, following strike action by harbour workers who are employed by a sub-contractor

The workers, who are responsible for berthing the ferries, had reportedly stopped working in protest against their employer.

Although the 6.45am ferry had to be cancelled by Gozo Channel, the company brought in other workers to perform the duties at the harbour and ferry crossings are now restored, it said.
