Malta Police has said that the Traffic Branch together with the assistance of the Dog Section, carried out road safety operations on Christmas Eve, with around 350 vehicles were stopped and checked.

In a statement Police said that the areas in which the checks were carried out were Zabbar, Zejtun, Marsa, Saint Paul’s bay, Bugibba, Saint Julian’s and Sliema.

Several people were stopped and fined for traffic breaches, which the Police said, included driving without a valid driving licence, driving without a valid insurance policy, driving without a seat belt among others breaches.
