Police have advised that a man was seriously injured after he was hit by a car in Mgarr Road, Ghajnsielem on Sunday evening.

The incident happened at about 6.10pm, when the 68-year old man, who is from Birzebbuga was hit by a Land Rover Freelander being driven by a 51-year old German woman from Ghajnsielem.

Police said that the man was taken to the Gozo General Hospital for further treatment, where he was found to be suffering from serious injuries.

A Magisterial Inquiry was appointed into the case and Police investigations are still ongoing.
