The GRTU – Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises – has said that petrol station owners have suspended their industrial action as from this evening, as “a sign of goodwill.”

Petrol pumps had been turned off after 6pm at night, only operating and offering a service during the day, following industrial action which started on Tuesday.

The GRTU said that the actions will be being temporarily suspended, pending the meeting that is being held on Saturday between the GRTU and Minister Joe Mizzi.

The Chamber added that the petrol station owners want to cause the least inconvenience to the consumer and wanted to show willingness ahead of tomorrow’s discussions.

Although the action has been suspended today, the GRTU said that it had not yet ruled out further action if an agreement is not reached on Saturday.
