Roberta Metsola named as Malta's most active MEP in last 5 yearsMEP Roberta Metsola has been named as Malta and Gozo’s most active MEP by authoritative website MEP Ranking.EU

The website gathered and analysed data related to the work done by MEPs for the past five-years, before coming to their conclusions. She is the only Maltese MEP to make the top 30 MEPs overall.

The announcement of the ranking was made following the last European Parliament plenary session signalled the end of the 2014-2019 legislature.

MEP Metsola’s ranking puts her at the very top of all EPP Group MEPs, behind President Antonio Tajani and Group Chairman Manfred Weber.

In the last legislature Roberta Metsola has won the prestigious MEP of the Year award twice and was named as one the top ten young leaders of the world in 2017.

MEP Metsola, commenting on the announcement said, “it is always nice to have some acknowledgement of the work done and to be recognised by such an authoritative forum is honour for indeed, but – even if we may not always agree – every Maltese MEP works hard for the people we represent.”

She concluded by saying, “when I was elected as a Member of the European Parliament, I promised Maltese and Gozitans, that I will represent all their interests, work hard, and always stand up for the values that distinguish us as Maltese – and I’m pleased that has been recognised today. Now it’s back to work.”

In November last year, Ms Metsola opened a permanent constituency base in Gharb, Gozo to enable her to meet constituents regularly on the island.
