The proposals presented by the government to reform the rental market are a step forward, said the left think-tank organisation Zminijietna.

Zminijietna, in a statement added that, “if the proposals are properly applied, these can offer long term stability and, further on even affordability. A mandatory duration of 3 years will provide more security and stability to tenants, rather than a one year contract.”

The organisation concluded by urging the government to keep the reform on an ongoing basis. “Eventually, new measures have to be introduced so that the reform will achieve its objectives.”
