This year’s scholarship for Expressive Arts has been launched by the Ministry for Education and Employment

135 applicants from different artistic expressions have benefited from this scheme during the nine years since it started.

The Ministry explained hat this scheme offers scholarships from a wide spectrum of artistic expression, namely dance, music, visual arts, creative writing, fashion, photography, architecture, and theatre, among others.

The choice of the courses of study are up to the applicants themselves, but they need to be recognised by the MQRIC, which is the regulatory body of such courses in Malta.

The Selection Board said that each year it strives to improve this scheme. For this reason, a Maltese version of the regulation is also available.

Scholarships consist of an amount of money which is credited towards a reimbursement of tuition fees. Full-time students also receive maintenance grants.

These regulations, along with the online application, can be found online. All applicants need an active and functioning e-ID account.

Applications from individuals of 11 years of age and more may be received. However, minors’ applications are to be filed in by parents/legal guardians

The Ministry said that a portfolio is to be attached to the online application. Applicants wishing to demonstrate their artistic expression by video are to provide a link, whilst those working in visual arts are to provide pictures of their work.
