Police Day is being commemorated in Malta and Gozo, with a special programme of events across this islands to mark this year’s 205th anniversary of the Malta Police. This special day is commemorated every year on the 12th of July.
In Gozo the public will have the opportunity to show their appreciation towards the local Police during a ceremony in Marsalforn on Monday, the 15th of July.
Prior to the evening events, there will be a Mass celebrated at the Santa Marija cemetery chapel, followed by the blessing of Police graves and laying of flowers.
The commemoration events then get underway in Marsalforn with a march by the Malta Police Band starting from Mikelang Refalo Street at 7.30pm.
A Police Band Concert at Il-Menqa will follow, and the evening will conclude with displays by the Precision Drill Team, as well as the Police Dogs Section.
Two horses from the mounted section and a traffic motorcycle and rider will also be part of the team meeting the public on the night.
As part of the commemorations the Police are also holding a recruitment week, and there will be an information stand available during the event in Gozo for those interested in a possible career with the Police Force.
