Almost 300,000 tourists visited Gozo in August and 1.4 million in first 8 months

Latest data from the National Statistics Office show that the total number of tourists visiting Gozo during August, including both same-day and overnight visitors, totalled 299,511, or 69.8% of total tourists (429,111).
The total number of tourists visiting Gozo for the first eight months of the year, including both same-day and overnight visitors, totalled 1,409,354, or 58.6% of total tourists (2,405,568).
On a national basis, total inbound tourists for August were estimated at 429,111 an increase of 15.5% when compared to the corresponding month in 2023. Total nights spent amounted to 3,187,002, and total expenditure surpassed €480.5 million.
Italian, British, and French residents made up 53.6% of total inbound tourists, the NSO said.
The largest share of guest nights (86.1%) was spent in rented accommodation establishments.
Inbound tourists for the first eight months of 2024 amounted to 2,405,568, while total nights spent almost reached 15.4 million nights.
Total tourism expenditure for the period January-August 2024 was estimated at €2.2 billion, while expenditure per capita stood at €904.
