The very hot weather through the summer months can mean a drop in the number of blood donations being made.

The National Blood Transfusion Service has said that at this time they are struggling meet the enormous challenge of maintaining a good blood reserve.

They are currently in urgent need of O Negative blood, however the Service is calling on all Gozitans who are able to please make donations of any blood type.

Donations can be made this Tuesday, the 30th of June, from 1:00pm-5:00pm. (last registration 5:00pm) at the District Health Centre in Xewkija, located in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.

The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.
