Gozo is certainly the place to be this August, with the celebrations for the Santa Marija Feast, closely followed by the opening of the Cittadella Arts Festival 2019.

Launched back in April, this Festival of Art, Music and Theatre will be held between August and September, organised by DCapitals Band, in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo, Arts Council Malta (Gozo Cultural Support Programme) and Heritage Malta.

Artistic Director of the Festival George Apap explained that this festival is without doubt the largest project undertaken by the DCapitals Band in the five years since it started.

The programme will be made up of various activities ranging from music concerts, educational activities, art exhibition, talks and other cultural activities.

A spectacular concert at the Cittadella Ditch will open the Festival on Saturday, the 17th of August at 8.30am, featuring two big bands – DCapitals Big Band and a guest band from the Czech Republic: Big’O’Band.

Beat it A Big Band Show – will also feature guest singer Chris Grech, together with DCapitals resident singers Francesca Sciberras, Jolene Samhan and Fabian Galea.
