Bishop Giovanni Cefai pays official visit to the Minister for Gozo

Bishop Giovanni Cefai and his family have paid an official visit to the Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana, when they exchanged mementos for the occasion.

Dr Caruana said that they shared their thoughts, ideas and experiences. Minister Caruana said that she wholeheartedly wishes him well in his work carrying out the important mission that was entrusted to him.

Bishop Cefai is in Gozo on his first visit since he was appointed by Pope Francis as the first Bishop of the territorial prelature of Apóstol de Huancané, Peru.

Bishop Cefai, who is from Zebbug, Gozo, is the first Maltese Bishop of the Missionary of St Paul.

The Bishop is carrying out a number of official engagements in the Gozo Diocese. Collections made during the Mass in each parish the Bishop visits will go in aid of the mission in Peru.

Bishop Cefai’s last engagement in Gozo is on the 1st of September, when he will celebrate Mass at the Basilica of the Nativity of Our Lady in Xaghra at 7pm.
