October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and during this month the National Blood Transfusion Service is calling on the public to be aware of the need for blood to help others in need at this time.

Organised by the National Blood Transfusion Service, there will be the opportunity throughout the month to donate blood during sessions taking place in Gozo.

The public are being invited to help meet this ever-growing demand for blood by making a donation on one of the four dates shown below.

Donations can be made at the District Health Centre in Xewkija, located in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.

Sundays – last registration 1:00pm

13th October from 8: 00am to 1:00pm

27th October from 8: 00am to 1:00pm

Tuesdays – last registration 5:00pm

8th October from 1:00pm-5:00pm

22nd October from 1:00pm-5:00pm.

A reminder also that there is a chance to donate blood this coming Sunday, Tuesday, the 29th of September at Xewkija from 8: 00am to 1:00pm.

The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.
