The Pope Saint John Paul II Foundation of Gozo (JP2 Foundation) has congratulated the Bishop of Gozo Mgr Mario Grech for the trust shown by Pope Francis on appointing him as General Pro-Secretary of the Synod of Bishops at the Vatican.

The Foundation, in a statement, thanked Mgr Grech for his 14 years of pastoral work within the Diocese of Gozo and for his collaboration and support given to the Foundation, which it said, was always guaranteed.

In the statement, the Foundation also expressed “joy that such a high position at the Vatican was reached by a Gozitan.” Mgr Grech will follow the present Secretary, Cardinal Baldisseri after his resignation in August 2020.

The Foundation concluded by again praising Mgr Grech and promised him its support and prayers.
