Last night during the carnival celebrations at Nadur, a 20-year old man from the same town fell off a carnival float he was riding on and sustained severe injuries.

The young man received first aid at the scene, and was then taken to Gozo General Hospital by ambulance.

Police advised that the youth was enjoying the carnival with friends on the float at the time of the accident.

The youth was transferred from Gozo General to Mater Dei by helicopter. His condition remains critical.
