Malta International Airport, together with the Civil Protection Department (CPD), will be holding a series of partial emergency training exercises, with the first one being held tomorrow morning, Wednesday, the 23rd of October.

It advised any passengers travelling on the day that this exercise will not affect their journey.

MIA explained that these exercises are being organised with the aim of testing and enhancing the level of preparedness of the aforementioned entities for an emergency scenario, whilst also testing the adequacy of the emergency equipment used and the emergency response plan in place.

It advised that the public should not be alarmed if, on the above-indicated day, they witness unusual activity, such as a number of emergency vehicles, including fire engines, being driven in the vicinity of the airport perimeter.
