Bumper weekend of activities attracts influx of visitors to Gozo

The Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana, has said that activities held on the island over the first weekend of November have proved to be a huge success.
Dr Caruana explained that on Gozo Channel there was an increase in the number of passengers with around 62,000 crossing over during the weekend, which was + 9.6% and + 15% for cars on last year.
The four Gozo Channel vessels operated 290 trips, often working on a shuttle service to meet demand, the Minister for Gozo said.
The Minister also said that, “in contrast to previous years, when the month of November was considered quiet by the Gozitan business community, it now seems that this month also will a busy one thanks to the number of activities prepared by the Ministry.”
She said that during November the following activities are being organised:
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 November – Sound of Music at the Oratory Don Bosco
Saturday, 16 November – Hilltop Rock in Xaghra square
Friday, 22 November – Myth, Legends & Folklore Festival, Gharb
Saturday, 23 November – Kantamag?na at the Astra Theatre
Saturday, 30 November – Official opening of Gozo Christmas activities in Independence Square Victoria.
