More than 900 vehicles have been stopped at road checks carried out in various localities around Malta

The road checks were conducted by Police officers from different sections together with members of the Armed Forces of Malta.

Police said that drug paraphernalia and several types of drugs were found, including cannabis, heroin and cocaine.

Three persons were also breathalysed and were found to be driving under the influence of alcohol.

Several other vehicles were stopped after traffic violations were noted. Court action will be taken against all the offenders.
