10 new Covid-19 cases and 4 recoveries, active cases now at 76There were 10 new Covid-19 case recorded in the past 24-hours from 2,275 swab tests – making a 0.44% positivity rate. There were 4 recoveries and no new deaths registered.

Active cases are now at 76 in Malta and Gozo. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic in Malta is 30,553 and there have been 30,058 recoveries and 419 deaths.

931,065 swab tests have been taken since the start of the pandemic in Malta.

528,592 doses of the vaccine have been administered up until yesterday. 218,321 are now fully vaccinated, while 91,950 are partly vaccinated.

It advised that these labels were chosen after wide consultation and a review of many potential naming systems. WHO convened an expert group of partners from around the world to do so, including experts who are part of existing naming systems, nomenclature and virus taxonomic experts, researchers and national authorities.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has advised that it will be reporting figures on a weekly basis – every Thursday. As of the 27th of May, it shows that the number of cases recorded for Malta is at 30,506 and the number of deaths showing is 417. The 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 is now 9.33, the lowest in the EU.

The ECDC said that the above data are collected between Monday and Wednesday for the proceeding week.

The Ministry of Health called on the public to continue to follow the preventive measures so that we can protect the most vulnerable in our society – This includes wearing of masks, social distancing and hand hygiene.
