Enemalta has advised that “first indications show that the extensive power outage was due to a fault that occurred on the interconncector cable between Malta and Sicily.” Technical teams are still investigating the “root cause,” it said.
Power started too to restored to parts of Gozo from around 11.20am. Areas of Malta had been restored earlier.
