Road safety operations by the Police Traffic Section, assisted by the Dogs Section, were carried out around Malta during Christmas night.
Police said that the checks resulted in 89 people being fined. 3 were driving under the influence of alcohol, 9 driving without a seatbelt, 5 were driving without a valid road license and 3 were found in possession of illicit drugs among other contraventions.
