Filippo Venuti – An Italian artist in Malta – is the title of a new exhibition opening later this month in Gozo.
Il-Hagar museum is hosting a temporary exhibition of interesting information about this Italian artist who worked also for some time on the Maltese Islands.
The cultural centre possesses five of Filippo Venuti’s paintings and the inauguration will also serve as the official launch of a Restoration Project on these works, which has attracted Bank of Valletta’s sponsorship, Il Hagar said.
The Exhibition opens on Saturday, the 25th of January at 11.30am and will be on display between 9am to 5 pm seven days a week, till Wednesday, the 19th of February. The museum is located in St George’s Square, Victoria, Gozo
There is no entrance fee, but Il-Hagar said that “art-lovers will have the opportunity to contribute to this initiative (planned to be ongoing because of the numerous items which merit conservation).”
