Carnival fever in Gozo is building and the dates for next month’s Nadur Carnival have now been announced by the Local Council, ensuring plenty of time to get your carnival costumes ready…

Nadur village has become synonymous with Carnival and every year it attracts thousands of local, Maltese and tourists to this spectacular event.

The Organised Carnival on Sunday, the 16th of February, will kick-start the very popular annual festivities in the village, when four hours of fun will get underway from 12.00pm, with over 500 participants in a packed programme of activities taking place in St. Peter & St. Paul Square.

This wonderful afternoon of fun promises to entertain all ages, including a riot of colour, laughter, a variety of carnival dances, hilarious sketches, costumes, maskeruni, floats – both large and small, and the traditional kukkanja to bring it to a close.

Then the following Friday is the start of the famous Nadur Spontaneous Carnival – which projects the message of carnival made through satire.

The Spontaneous Carnival starts on Friday, the 21st through to Tuesday, the 25th of February, in December 13th Street, St. Peter & St. Paul Square and the surrounding streets, beginning after sunset each day and lasting till the early morning hours……
