1. During the Victoria Scout Group Annual General Meeting, Certificates were presented to the Venture Scout, Scout and Cub Scouts of the Year. Other certificates of merit were presented to other members and to various Sixes and Patrols.

2. Mr Sergey Medvedev, Director of the Russian Cultural Centre, opened an Exhibition of paintings by Anastasia Ponyatovskaya at the St. John Hall of the Cittadella in Gozo Centre for Culture and Arts.

3. Rita Said, a teacher at Xewkija Primary, has retired after 30 years. To mark the occasion, a Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated in the school’s recently refurbished hall. She was presented with a memento on behalf of all the staff and students. Ms Said spent several years teaching at San Gwann Primary

4.The Gozo Tourism Association celebrated its 10th anniversary. Founded on February 11, 1999, its prime objective was to promote Gozo as an all-year destination.

1. The Saliba family of Ghajnsielem was presented the Familja Qalb tad-Deheb, by President Eddie Fenech Adami, during an evening held at Hotel Ta’ Cenc. An award sponsored by the Cana Movement for the past 38 years

2. Bishop Mario Grech conferred the ministry of Lector to five Seminarians.
