Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri, has said that St. Francis Square will be open to traffic again by the summer.
St Francis Square is currently being paved he said, and added that he had “spoken with the contractor and we were clear that this project in Victoria must go faster and more resources are being devoted to complete it.”
Speaking during a news conference on Tuesday, the Minister reiterated that strengthening infrastructure will be a priority for him.
Minister Camilleri said that he would be evaluating the ongoing infrastructure projects and ensure that they are completed as soon as possible.
The Minister added that “adequate infrastructure is an urgent need for this island and insisted that the island’s roads are given the same importance as the roads in Malta.”
“The priority is not only that the project starts, but also has enough progress been made for it to be completed within the deadline,” he said
Minister Clint Camilleri said he would ensure coordination between projects so that inconvenience to citizens is minimal.
He also stressed the need to strengthen the expertise and efficiency on the part of the department.

It is to be hoped that the top end of Triq Ghajn Qatet, where it goes down from the square is, also resurfaced as at the moment you will go from a lovely new square on to one of the worst bits of road in Victoria.
