The JP2 Foundation is hosting the King’s School Worcester Choir from the UK, who will be performing one concert in Gozo and two in Malta.

This is part of the commemoration events organised by the Foundation to mark the first centenary from the birth of Karol Wojtyla and the 30th anniversary from the first Pontiff visit to the Maltese Islands.

The King’s School Worcester Choir opening concert is in San Lawrenz, Gozo, at the Parish Church on Saturday, the 15th of February, starting at 7.00pm, following the Mass.

This event is taking place with the full collaboration of the San Lawrenz Local Council and the Parish Church.

The choir’s next concert is the locality of Floriana in Malta – Floriana had the privilege of hosting Pope Saint John Paul II during the Mass on the Granaries.

The choir will be animating the Sunday liturgy Mass at St. Publius Parish Church on Sunday, the 16th of February, starting at 9.00am. The event will be live televised on TVM2.

The third locality to be visited by the King’s School Worcester Choir is Sliema, where they will perform a sacred music concert at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish Church known as the Sacro Cuor Sanctuary, on Monday, the 17th of February, starting at 6.15pm (immediately after the service will end).

This event is being held in full collaboration with th Sliema Local Council and the Franciscan Fathers.

The King’s School Worcester Choir was founded by Henry VIII in 1541. It is a Cathedral Choir School and educates all of the Cathedral Choristers.

The School Choir sings regularly in Worcester Cathedral and includes pupils aged 11 – 18. They sing a wide range of sacred and secular music. They tour Europe every two years, most recently to Venice and Paris.

The general public is invited to attend all three concerts.
