Rotary Club of Gozo is holding a “Woodstock” event – to help raise funds towards fund their “Rotability” project.

The aim of Rotary Club of Gozo’s project “Rotability” is to provide, through Friends of the Sick and Elderly Gozo, stair climbing equipment to wheelchair and housebound residents who would otherwise be unable to climb stairs or exit their homes due to steps.

Rotary explained that due to the nature of homes in Gozo and surrounding roads, it is sometimes difficult to get people in and out of their homes as well as manoeuvring within the home itself due to the number of steps and stairs.

The stair climbing equipment can be easily attached to a wheelchair by a carer who can then move their charge up and down the stairs without the need to move them from one piece of equipment to another, Rotary said.

Once the stairs have been navigated, the device is simply removed and the carer can then proceed to move their charge in their own wheelchair as normal.

Rotary Club Gozo is organising Woodstock, a fun evening that everyone is invited to attend, details are shown below:

“We are celebrating the joy of the time with our very own Woodstock event. It will be the most fun you’ll have had in ages…since the 60s! So, come along and join in. It’ll be a trip…”

The event is on Friday, the 27th of March, at Villa Fiorita, Marsalforn and starting at 7.00 for 7.30pm.

Entertainment will include music and karaoke by: Wendy and Jeff. There will be a prize for best costume (most psychedelic wig?); Finger food with 13 different dishes plus desserts (please notify the organisers if you are gluten intolerant or vegetarian)

Ticket cost per person is €20 (exc. drinks), to include a contribution to the “Rotability” fund.
