Kaccaturi San Ubertu (KSU) in a statement on Thursday, said that it is in “full agreement with the FKNK’s proposed changes in the Referendum Act.”
The KSU went on to say that it has also made a request as part of the Constitutional Reform where the protection of minority groups rights, their indigenous customs, privileges, legal practices and traditions is enshrined in the Constitution.
“The basis of this request is a petition signed by 104,293 citizens presented to Parliament on June 3, 2014, also referred to by the FKNK, asking for such protection of minorities,” said the KSU.
The hunters’ lobby added that it noted “with disgust” the reaction of Birdlife Malta (BLM), and described it as “deviously publicising the FKNK’s request as a move to abolish the right of referendum.”
“As always BLM manipulates minds, creates social hatred and at the same time asks for donations to finance its ongoing deceit,” stated the KSU.
