The production of Verdi’s Otello scheduled for April the 25th in Gozo has been cancelled.

Gaulitana: A Festival of Music, advised that the decision had been regrettably been made in view of the restrictions and directives communicated by the Government,

It explained that a potential postponement is unlikely due to the unavailability of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra in 2020.

Gaulitana went on to say that while concerts involving foreign artists are also being cancelled, the festival is still evaluating whether to carry on with the events featuring locally based artists.

In view of this, Gaulitana said that it will be continuously reviewing the situation and communicating any updates accordingly

Whilst apologising to its esteemed patrons, Gaulitana said that opera ticket holders will be contacted regarding reimbursements.
