A helpline service – 25903030 – has been launched for persons over 60-years of age, who need assistance with necessities and have no one else to help them.

This number is also applicable for the elderly in Gozo, where the assistance will be provided by the Ministry for Gozo.

Launched by the Ministry for the Family and the Parliamentary Secretariat for Active Ageing and Persons with Disability, the service has been provided as an assistance during the current Covid-19 virus outbreak, with the elderly now being advised to stay at home.

It will help with the provision of medicines, ready meals, and some food products, such as fruit and vegetables.

This helpline will be available Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm, including public holidays and on Saturdays from 8am to 1pm.

The Government advised that this service will be temporary and once the situation changes it will no longer be applicable.
