During Friday’s daily update, Supt. of Public Health Prof Charmaine Gauci, said that new cases of Covid-19 had been reported in the past 24-hours, from 749 swab tests taken. Their ages range from 23 to 62-years of age.
Prof Gauci said that 3 of the new cases were through local transmission and 4 are travel related (all had returned from England towards the end of March).
The number of cases now stands at 202, with 9,043 swab tests taken in total. She added that from existing cases, only 1 patient remains in ITU, while 8 others are at the IDU.
1 of the new locally transmitted patients is a pregnant woman, however all new cases are in good health, said Prof Gauci.
She reiterated the need to comply with the measures issued by the health authorities – on social distancing, and for those who are vulnerable that they remain in their homes whenever possible.
