In a statement on Thursday, Kaccaturi San Ubertu (KSU) said that legal advice it has been given about what it says is the, “the vile criminal complaint on spring hunting licenses by BirdLife Malta” points to this being “baseless, deceitful and a waste of precious time for the police and the authorities.”
The KSU noted that Legal notice 140 of 2020 states: “IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by articles 54 and 55 of the Environment Protection Act, the Minister for the Environment, Climate Change and Planning, in conjunction with the Minister for Gozo and after consultation with the Environment and Resources Authority, has made the following regulations.
“All spring hunting licenses were issued according to this Legal Notice and subsequently Birdlife Malta’s statements are nothing but lies and more hatred directed towards hunters,” the KSU said.
It concluded by calling upon the authorities to “take action against such extremism which only serves to tarnish Malta’s reputation, create more animosity and attempts to obstruct the legal activities of a substantial sector of Maltese citizens.”
