Heritage Malta’s – Be the Artist – competition winners have been announced and Heritage Malta said that it is seeking to attract a new generation towards the national heritage.

The winners were announced during an event attended by the Minister for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government José Herrera and Dr Lydia Abela, the spouse of the Prime Minister.

The selected artistic submissions from this online competition, launched in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, will be exhibited at MUZA, the National Community Art Museum, and will also be shown on Heritage Malta’s website and Facebook page.

Maltese and Gozitan children aged over 16, submitted over 260 artistic pieces for the competition, held between April and June, in accordance to the various themes proposed by Heritage Malta. From prehistoric temples to traditional confections, Roman mosaics to art within MUZA.

Heritage Malta also announced the renewal of its popular Student Passport Summer programme, increasing accessibility to the cultural heritage. The programme will also include various artistic and physical activities within Heritage Malta’s sites.. Tickets are available from today by clicking here.
