Health Authorities in a statement this afternoon, have said that nine out of the fourteen cases which have tested positive over the last 24 hours are linked to the Hotel Takeover Summer 2020, therefore reaching a total of 15 confirmed cases as part of this cluster.
The statement said that three of the remaining cases were local sporadic cases and two were imported cases.
Earlier this afternoon, Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri, said in a facebook post that he has been informed by the doctor responsible for public health in Gozo that none of the 14 positive cases today were associated with the St. George’s Band march, or in Gozo. “Follow the official statements.”
Public Health Authorities recommended that all those who attended any event or party related to the Hotel Takeover Summer 2020 get tested for COVID-19. “Persons are to call 111 to set an appointment, even if they do not have any symptoms.
The Authorities stressed that as symptoms can develop within 14 days of exposure, “it is imperative that whoever attended these events monitors themselves for symptoms for the coming two weeks. Anyone who develops symptoms should stay indoors and call 111 again to book another swab to exclude Covid-19 infection.”
None of the 14 positive cases requires treatment in hospital and, following clinical evaluation, are all recovering at their own home under the coordination of primary healthcare, the Authorities said.
