On Maundy Thursday, there were morning prayers at the Cathedral at 8.30am. This was followed by the Mass of Holy Chrism at 9.00am.
Gozo Bishop, Mgr Mario Grech, led a concelebrated Mass during which he blessed the holy oils that will be used in the celebration of the Sacraments of the Anointing of the Sick, Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Orders.
All priests renewed the promises that they made on the day of their ordination and at 6.30pm. Mgr Grech led the solemn commemoration of the Lord’s Supper.
On Good Friday, at 4.00pm, Bishop Grech will lead the celebration of the Lord’s Passion.
On Holy Saturday, he will lead the celebration of the Easter Vigil at 8.00pm starting with the blessing of the New Fire.
