The Health Ministry has said that an 86-year-old man has died while being positive with Covid-19.

In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry said that the man was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on the 24th of August after being admitted to hospital on the 23rd.

As is the procedure for any hospital admission, the man underwent a routine swab test and was found to be positive. He was being treated at Mater Dei Hospital. The Ministry said that he had other health conditions.

The Ministry, while offering its condolences to the patient’s family, reiterated its appeal for the public to continue to follow the public health guidelines.
