An 86-year old man has died while being positive with Covid-19, he passed away today at Mater Dei Hospital. He is the 24th person to die with the virus.

In a statement on Tuesday evening, the Ministry for Health said that the man tested positive for Covid-19 on the 8th of September. He was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital on the 17th of September, where he died earlier today.

The Ministry said that the man had underlying medical conditions.

The Ministry, while offering its condolences to the patient’s family, reiterated its appeal for the public to continue to follow the public health guidelines, including frequent hand washing, social distancing and wearing a mask.
