An 79-year old woman has died while being positive with Covid-19, she is the 34th person to die with the virus.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry for Health said that the woman tested negative for Covid-19 on the 26th of September as part of the routine tests being carried out in the care home where she lived.
She died yesterday, the 28th of September and the Ministry said that a swab test performed after her death confirmed that she was positive for Covid-19.
The Ministry said that the woman “had underlying other health conditions.”
The Health Ministry, while offering its condolences to the patient’s family, reiterated its appeal for the public to continue to follow the public health guidelines, including frequent hand washing, social distancing and wearing a mask.
