A new scheme has been launched to encourage families to adopt and care for the animals which are currently being looked after at the Animal Welfare section Gozo.
This initiative is to mark the occasion of World Animal Day, celebrated on Sunday, the 4th of October, and is being organised by the Ministry for Gozo, through the Animal Welfare Section within the EcoGozo Directorate.
Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri said that, “through this scheme, which will be open throughout October, the new families of the adopted pet will be entitled to four free visits to the Gozo Ministry veterinarian within the Animal Welfare section and at the third visit, a €50 voucher will also be given that can be exchanged for food, medicines or other needs for the adopted pet.”
Minister Clint Camilleri emphasised that the adoption of a pet is a lifelong commitment and every adopted animal should be considered to be, and treated as, a member of the family.
The Director of EcoGozo explained that when you choose to adopt a pet you are giving a new home and a fresh start to an animal in need.
This scheme is valid for the entire month of October. Other terms and conditions apply. For more information please contact the Animal Welfare Centre Gozo.

I would like to adopt a pet but with my low pension I can not afford to take it to the VET. They became outrageously expensive.
