A man has been critically injured while he was working in a garage in Wied Sara in Ghasri.

Police, who had been been informed of the incident by the Health Department, said that it happened at around 2.45pm on Thursday afternoon.

The man sustained his injuries after being hit by a piece of wood that flew off a machine he had been working on.

He was given first aid by a medical team on site and then transferred to Gozo General Hospital for treatment, where he was later certified to be suffering from serious injuries.

A Magisterial inquiry in underway and Police investigations are ongoing.
