Clyde Puli the Opposition Spokesperson for Education, has said in a statement that, “it is not acceptable that Gozitan students and teachers are having to suffer noise and dust in their classrooms due to the lack of a plan by the Labour Government on how to build and complete projects that have been promised for years.”

The PN argued that “Government projects should not disrupt learning or impede a healthy environment for students and teachers in the school who are doing their job alongside the ongoing work on the new Primary School and swimming pool project. The situation is already difficult enough with the pandemic.”

“The children and teachers of the Gozo Middle School are suffering from noise and dust which is getting into the classrooms due to the construction on two Government projects adjacent to the school. This was confirmed through an investigation carried out by newsbook,” the PN said

According to the PN, teachers and parents whose children attend this school are saying that lessons cannot be done with noise and dust entering the classrooms, as according to the protocol for schools issued by the health authorities, the windows and doors of the classrooms must be kept open at all times.
