The National Blood Transfusion Service has said that it would like to pay tribute to the “memory and example of the blood donors who have passed on to eternal life.”

The Service also thanked the 49 people who donated blood last Sunday in Gozo, while at the same time continued to encourage more Gozitans to please consider donating their blood during the next session, which is on Tuesday, the 3rd of November.

Donations can be made at the Blood Donation Centre in Xewkija, Gozo, between 1:00pm and 5:00pm (last registration until 5:00pm).

The donation centre is located at the Xewkija Clinic, in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.

The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand. Also, please encourage others to donate if possible.

Anyone currently waiting to take a Covid-19 test, or who has had the test and is waiting for the result, cannot give blood.

The Service stressed that due to the Covid-19 situation all necessary measures are being taken to protect anyone who comes to donate blood, as well as the professionals who provide them with a service.
