My name is John Demicoli from Sydney Australia and I often read your paper on the internet.

I received a video of Malta and Gozo which I was very impressed by. I thought your readers, especially Maltese and Gozitans living abroad would appreciate seeing it.

The video is produced by Alfred and Jasmine Grech and the song is by Enzo Guzman.

I’m sure, if you publish this letter showing the link to the video, your readers will greatly appreciate the presentation.

Regards,

John Demicoli

      Ken Postma from the Netherlands.

The Islands of Malta are beautiful. Even if I live abroad and have never visited Malta I can get some idea about what this country on the outer fringes of the EU, laying in the blue Mediterannean, is like and has to offer.

Thank you for showing your beautiful Malta Alfred and Jasmine.

    4. Heer.Jan.Hartmann (Nederlander) says:

Goed Dag Ken (g’day Ken) I am also from the Netherlands, you have only seen the best positive parts of these islands, since you have never been to Malta/Gozo perhaps you should see it for yourself, I can assure you its NOT ALL* all Hunky Dory, lets be fair now and be honest Gozo News we are not biased, however its worth visitng especially Gozo for its heritage.
      Heer.Jan.Hartmann (N.Holland/Gozo).

    5. Alfred Grech says:

Thanks Ken for your kind words. Yes, Malta and Gozo are very beautiful and yes, we have some faults but the beauty supersedes the flaws we have.

Heer.Jan.Hartmann, there is no such a thing as a perfect country in the world and can’t expect to find a perfect Malta or Gozo but, it’s not a dump like some foreigners tend to picture it at times. Some seem to be compulsary complainers.

The photos you have seen in our video and also in other of our videos are REAL ones and they tell a TRUE story about Malta and Gozo.

Search jasalf5959 on Youtube to see more beauty and history of Malta and Gozo.

    6. Heer.Jan.Hartmann says:

Hello Alfred Grech Many thanks for your feedback, yes ofcourse you are very right to say that no country is perfect no more so then my country of Holland, but we must all be honest and weight the good and the bad as a normal proceedture, people who have never been to Malta or Gozo can see how Malta and Gozo are doing their very best to redicule the negative bits and thats a good point i say don’t you? personnally we just love Gozo especially, and also the Gozitans as we have came to get to know these people and ofcourse we recipricate our experiences of Gozo and of Malta to my people back home and i must admit many have travelled to these islands on our recommandations, so really please i meant well, no body like to be critized but who does? and thats how these island have advanced over the years simply but such feedbacks from people as ourselves and the tourists that visited the islands. Thanks Mr.Grech

    7. Alfred Grech says:

The objection of us Maltese is not the criticism made by foreigners but by the exhagerations they care to depict in their criticism.

Malta could improve a lot but the inefficiency of our governments and that of the Local Councils prohibited such improvements but in general, one cannot picture Malta and Gozo as a dump which is the impression that sveral foreigners tend to give.

We have achieved what we have on our own. We have been used and abused in the past and it was our hard works and efforts that put our country where it is today.

No country advertises its inefficiencies and bad spots even though they exist in Europe, the Americas, Asia, Australia and everywhere else. I have read some destructive criticism coming from northern Europeans living in Gozo. I have also read constructive criticism from foreigners which criticism we appreciate but when such criticism is overdone or, as some tend to do, use their “superiority complex” and try to look down at us, that will not be tolerated.

My wife is a foreigner and yes, she sees the faults in our islands but she’s realistic and admits that there are many more pluses than minuses and she enjoys taking photos to share the beauty of Malta and Gozo with others.

With all our faults, we are all very proud of our country and of our achievements. We also have a very special asset which is spoken about by many: Maltese and Gozitans are very friendly and welcoming people and that enhances the beauty of Malta and Gozo.

Yes, Heer.Jan.Hartmann, improvements are needed but in the meantime, there is tremendous amount of beauty for everyone to enjoy in both Malta and Gozo which beauty exceeds the faults we have.

      Groeten

      Alfred

    8. Ken from the Netherlands says:

      Jan,

Just for curiosity sake are you really from the Netherlands?
Can you say Scheveningen and ach en tachtig Kachels?

      Ken.

    9. Jan.Hartmann says:

Hoi Jan.. in reply to your feedback or to put it mildly inquisitiveness whether i am from the Netherlands, the answer my friend since you asked, i say yes originally from Holland but grew up in Mt.Roskill/Auckland New Zealand, however while you’re at it you don’t by any chance what to know my bank number as well now do you?although i’m still what they call us in NZ >Kass kop< in a good sence of humour sort of way, but in any case whats my country of birth or my adopted country got to do with the subject, bit confused here.

    10. Ken from the Netherlands says:

That’s kaaskop and what is confusing?

The Island of Gozo and Malta as well as the other Islands are beautiful.

    11. Heer Jan Hartmann (NL/NZ). says:
