The National Blood Transfusion Service thanked everyone who called in to donate blood in Gozo on Tuesday.

There will be another opportunity to make a donation this coming Sunday, the 20th of December, the last chance for this year for those to wish to donate blood in Gozo.

Sunday’s session will be held at the Blood Donation Centre in Xewkija, between 8:00am and 1:00pm (last registration until 1:00pm).

The donation centre is located at the Xewkija Clinic, in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.

The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand. Also, please encourage others to donate if possible.

Anyone currently waiting to take a Covid-19 test, or who has had the test and is waiting for the result, cannot give blood.

The Service stressed that due to the Covid-19 situation all necessary measures are being taken to protect anyone who comes to donate blood, as well as the professionals who provide them with a service.

The next blood donation session in Gozo will be on Sunday, the 3rd of January, between 8am and 1pm.
